In Texas, a guardianship is almost always sought for incapacitated adults (rather than children). Legal incapacity means that a person who, because of a physical or mental condition, is substantially unable to take care of his or her food, clothing, or shelter and/ or take care of physical or mental health and/or manage their financial affairs.

Dennisse is an attorney with more than 11 years of experience in Labor, Corporate Law, Civil, and Family in Puerto Rico. She was an Associate Attorney at Jeffrey R. Gilbert Law Office. Her practice in Texas entirely focuses on Elder Law, with an emphasis on Probate, Guardianship of Minors and Adults, Estate Planning, Wills and Testaments, and Medicaid.

Background
Born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the daughter of a Civil Engineer and an Accountant, Dennisse is the third of 15 siblings. From an early age, she was an advocate for her friends and siblings, she used her voice to defend others and was also the voice of those who were afraid to speak. She studied at the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico, in 2004 completed a bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a major in accounting. Dennisse created a balance between her family, her children, and her studies, so in 2009 she received her Juris Doctor from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico. She passed the Puerto Rico bar in 2010 and became a lawyer in 2011 and since then her legal practice was mainly family, civil, labor, and corporate law.
In January 2016 Dennisse moved with her children to Pearland, Texas, a year after her husband, a Civil Engineer, accepted a job offer with Zachry Group. She worked as a legal assistant at the Law Office of Leena Bhasin, in 2020 she joins the law firm of Jeffrey R. Gilbert, P.C., then works with Mary Peter Cudd Law Office, learning about Elder Law, Probate, Estate Planning, Wills and Testaments, Guardianship and Medicaid. In July 2021 received her license from the State of Texas to practice as a lawyer.
Dennisse lives in Pearland with her husband, three children, and her dogs Roxy and Bruno. Since she came to Pearland she volunteers at the Pearland Neighborhood Center, where among other things, she helps Spanish-speaking people in applying and receiving the services offered by the center.
